Sizing Guide
The sizes referred to on this website are in millimetres, and are approximate. They follow the key shown here.
When choosing a fireplace the first consideration normally is the period of the house, the scale and style of the room and the furniture within it. The most critical measurement is the overall size of the chimney breast, as the fireplace should not extend beyond it. The opening size is of less importance as the installer can adjust it to suit the fireplace chosen.

When a fireplace is labelled as an "insert" it is normally used within a separate "mantle". A fireplace described as a "combination" is used on its own without the need for a separate mantle.
